Project Overview

Project Connect & Care is a community initiative by Vietnamese American Care (VAC) designed to strengthen families and individuals through meaningful, ongoing support services. By focusing on food assistance, health education, and social engagement, the project aims to build a healthier, more resilient, and compassionate community where no one feels left behind.

Purpose and Goals

The project seeks to:

  1. Build community capacity by empowering volunteers, youth, and local partners to work together in creating lasting positive change.
  2. Enhance well-being by providing access to nutritious food, health resources, and wellness workshops.
  3. Promote resilience by equipping families and individuals with tools to manage daily challenges and improve quality of life.
  4. Foster social connection by creating spaces where seniors, families, and youth can engage, share, and support one another.

Key Program Areas

Food Assistance

VAC coordinates monthly food distributions and fresh meal deliveries to low-income families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity. By partnering with local food banks, restaurants, and donors, we ensure that every meal provided is not just nourishment—but a reminder that our community cares.

Health Education

Through workshops, small-group discussions, and bilingual outreach materials, participants gain essential knowledge on nutrition, preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health awareness. These sessions promote proactive, informed self-care within our community.

Social Engagement

Project Connect & Care creates opportunities for social interaction and emotional connection—especially among seniors and isolated individuals. Programs include community gatherings, digital literacy classes, cultural activities, and volunteer-led home visits to reduce loneliness and strengthen social ties.

All services are delivered with a focus on equity, cultural responsiveness, and accessibility for limited-English and underserved communities.
